BreedAbove, Inc. is comprised of a group of Ann Arbor Area business owners and community leaders that came together as a result of a personal need for quality care for their furry family members. We shared a goal of giving our dogs safe daily exercise and socialization. Many of us travel for business and wanted a caring and comfortable overnight environment that was just like home. We wanted our dogs to receive expert salon care and often had need of a certified training specialist that could guide us through training.

BreedAbove launched in September of 2011 with several components of high quality services and we’ve been growing ever since.

Safety is the #1 mission in everything we provide at BreedAbove. From the Pet Salon and Spa to the DayStay Program to the NightStay Hotel Suites, BreedAbove provides excellency in the leadership, staff and facility design to create the highest quality dog services ever established in the industry. Located on Ann Arbor’s popular West Side it is conveniently located to I-94 and is just 1.5 miles from downtown Ann Arbor. We even provide transportation if you need it.

Each hotel suite is an individual, enclosed room that features a custom made bed that has an innerspring mattress, pillows, comforters, rugs and raised feeders. Our state of the art Energy Recovery Ventilation system cleans the air in each suite of the hotel and the entire facility. Each suite is fully heated and cooled to provide a comfortable temperature for sleeping.

The goal is quiet! The NightStay Hotel Concierge monitors each guest every 20 minutes to ensure a good night’s sleep for all. Anxious or nervous kids are immediately given attention and barking during the night is minimized so that all will sleep well.

There are eight flatscreen tvs mounted on the wall in the center of the hotel. NightStay Hotel guests are treated to snacks and a movie every night, creating a comfortable, home-like environment in a very professional setting. When it’s time for sleep the flicker of light from the movie and the background noise helps our guests feel right at home.

We welcome you to bring your dog’s bed, favorite toy or blanket from home. We can also remove linens if your dog likes to turn them into toys!

he DayStay Program® at BreedAbove provides basic manner training, appropriate levels of play and exercise, temperament specific playgroups, and proper socialization for your furry kids. Participants follow a daily program that is matched to their needs and behaviors. We’re here to help support your home training routine and provide lots of love, hugs and treats throughout the day.

The DayStay Program® at BreedAbove is very different than other doggie day care programs. The DayStay Program® is focused on helping dogs learn how to exercise and socialize at the same time. When a dog can exercise and socialize in a group of dogs off leash they typically will have stable behaviors in your home and in changing environments. Basic manners are taught every day.

BreedAbove DogLife® is a whole new approach to training and education that offers a wide variety of options in canine training, educational programs and seminars that will give you the understanding and tools you need to have the best relationship with your furry kids. DogLife® Sessions are structured to offer help in understanding and directing the beginning behaviors in puppies, the newly adopted adult dog and the senior dog. We offer a series of progressive group classes and seminars that provide a foundation of tools and knowledge to help you give your dog the best direction possible.

Custom designed stairs lead into a mosaic tiled bathing area. Your dog is pampered with a pre-bath massage and a gentle jet stream of warm water that loosens dirt and detangles coats. We also offer pre-groom anti-anxiety massages for our special kids. If your dog is overly anxious for salon procedures we can suggest calming supplements that work! 

BreedAbove stylists offer the appropriate shampoo for your dog’s unique needs. We only use hypoallergenic, all-natural shampoos. After the deep cleaning and soothing water massage, a high quality coat conditioner is applied to give your dog’s natural fur unbeatable shine and softness.
