First Class Kennels

First Class Kennels was opened in 2005 with the goal of providing best in class pet care for area pet owners. The facility is second to none in the Gastonia/Lincolnton area as many, many happy pets and owners attest. When Pat & Hilary Cleary purchased the business in 2010, they realized a dream they shared for a decade. They continue to make improvements to the business with the goal of providing pets and their owners with the finest customer service in the area. 

Pat and Hilary live next door to the facility and keep a very close eye and ear on the guests in the kennel.  They are active in the 'dog world', showing and raising Irish setters.  Most recently, they have added a Clumber Spaniel to their family and are working with him in conformation and obedience.  He also is a certified Therapy Dog and makes regular visits to assisted living facilities in the area. 

Prior to realizing their dream of owning an exceptional pet resort, they  owned a successful pet care services business in New Jersey where Hilary was also on the management team of one of the largest privately-owned veterinary hospitals in the state. 

Like the Cleary's, every member of the First Class Kennels Guest Services Team shares a passion for pets and is committed to providing first class care and service to you and your special companion.

A well-groomed dog doesn't just look good - regular grooming helps contribute to your pet's overall health.  Our groomers are experienced with all breeds of dogs and each grooming appointment is tailored to your dog's conformation, lifestyle and temperament.  We consult with you at each appointment to help achieve the appearance you desire for your pet, taking into consideration your pet's coat condition and behavior.  Grooming rates are based on several factors including pet size, coat length, thickness, condition and behavior.
   Our Menu of grooming services includes:

• Rejuvenating Bath: A full bath with a refreshing shampoo and a thorough blow drying.

• Mini Groom: Begins with the Rejuvenating Bath and includes a nail trim, complete brush out, and basic foot and sanitary trimming.
  
  
• Full Groom:  Expands on the Mini Groom and includes complete and customized trimming. 

A la carte services include nail trims (offered Mon - Sat between 9 am and 1 pm with no appointment necessary), anal gland expression, and all-natural flea shampoo.
