Our story has as many twists and turns as Hwy 101 as it makes its way down the Oregon coast.
After careers in film, television, advertising and conference management we followed our love of animals to the lovely village of Manzanita. About twelve years ago we were lucky enough to have some friends invite us and our daughter Montana out for the weekend in Manzanita. It was our first time visiting and we fell in love immediately. Manzanita became our go-to spot when we want to get out of the city on long weekends and it didn’t take us long to discover Four Paws on the Beach. We were the parents of a greyhound named Ali (short for “Aluminum”) at the time. A running joke started between us that if Four Paws ever came up of sale we would have to buy it and move to the coast.
Well, in May of 2015, we found out that our “joke” had become a reality! Four Paws on the Beach was for sale! We decided we couldn’t let this opportunity pass us by and we picked up the phone. We have been blessed with an amazing community and a great deal of support. We had been thinking that opening a second shop in Cannon Beach would be a dream come true, but it was about timing. We started becoming a part of the business alliance in Cannon Beach and soon learned about a retail space coming available. We could not believe our luck! In late September, 2019, we moved into our current location and opened our doors on January 3, 2020. And now you know the rest of the story. We are so lucky to be a part of such warm and welcoming communities and we look forward to continuing to provide (and expand) top quality products and services for your furry companions.
All the best!
Matt, Meghan and Montana
