Sunshine Grow Shop

In 1968, Dr. and Mrs. John Ellis launched Ellis Greenhouses on the family’s land just outside of Georgetown, Kentucky. The venture started out as a family project.

In 1970, John Ellis Sr. received his doctorate degree in Agronomy, thereafter teaching at U.K., The University of Hawaii, and a United States Overseas Mission in Thailand.

Fifteen years later, the first Sunshine Grow Shop opened on Richmond Road in Lexington. Today, Sunshine Grow Shops flourish with four Central Kentucky locations.
